Ventcrofts range of re-settable manual call points
have been designed for safe, repeatable and reliable operation with
an emphasise on design and style. The manual fire alarm call point
has been designed to comply with BS5839 pt 2, EN54 pt 11 and is LPCB ready.
Call points can be supplied either flush or surface mounting,
when flush
mounting a Spacer bezel is used and can be fitted to a wide range of back boxes including
plastic plaster board and galvanised sunken back boxes.
When pressed and activated the front re-settable element is press down
by an internal spring clearly displaying "ACTIVATED", models are available
with an LED which back lights the "ACTIVATED" insignia. The LED is enabled
cutting a link. For fail safe operation an integral 120 Ohm resister is
soldered across the LED allowing for the very unlikely event of LED
malfunction.
Connecting the fire alarm call point is made simple, by using 6 terminals,
2 for alarm in and 2 for alarm out, and 2 spare terminals for earth should
they be required, connections are made with rising clamp 45 degree terminal blocks
allowing easy accommodation of 2.5 mm2 conductors for
quick and easy installation.
The front cover is held by a bolt which is screwed up from the bottom,
keeping the design lines free of unnecessary holes and blemishes.
The standard fire alarm manual call point is
factory set with a 470 Ohm series resistor, and for systems requiring a
680 Ohms series resistor a link may be cut.
