Many schools, collages, public buildings or where the very best protection is required, now demand the 2 hour duration provided by an 'Enhanced' Fire Cable. NoBurn Diamond Enhanced meets this requirement and is approved by LPCB to the 'Enhanced' standard of BS5839-1 2002 +A2:2008 Clause 26.2e Enhanced and also the requirements of BS8434 - 2:2003 120 minutes and BS EN 50200 Class PH120.

NoBurn Diamond's Firelok design adds simple but effective strength and makes NoBurn Diamond cable the fastest enhanced cable to install and prepare for installation. The outer sheath and foil are adhered so together are removed at the same time, no time consuming multiple sheaths, foils, wraps or mica tapes to remove.

More flexible than most enhanced fire cable, NoBurn Diamond stays where you put it - simple and easy to dress and position in conduit or trunking.

NoBurn cores are manufactured with multiple twists to provide the highest level of data protection , ideal for long cable runs and analogue addressable fire systems. NoBurn softskin enhanced fire cable provides a cost effective quick to install alternative to MICC cables.

Also suitable for automatic lift doors, air conditioning and computer control where low smoke, fume and zero halogen cable is required.

NoBurn Diamond's design removes overlap vulnerability, reduces accidental damage and minimises the potential for water ingress due to overlap failure during fire conditions.

Manufacturers Recommended Installation Guide Lines

Recommended metal clip spacing 300mm Horizontal, 400mm Vertical

Installation Temperatures:
Minimum installation Temperature 0ºc
Maximum installation Temperature 70 C

Operating Temperature Temperature:
Minimum -40 C to Maximum +90 C

The cable should not be flexed or bent when either the cable or operating temperature is below the recommended installation temperatures.

Minimum Bend Radius = 6 x Diameter
Plastic Clips or ties must not be used as the sole means of support for fire cable.

BS5839, Part 1:2002 Update

A recent amendment to BS5839, (fire detection and fire alarm systems for buildings - Code of practice for system design, installation, commissioning and maintenance) has been issued. The new Standard BS5839 Part 1:2002 details many revisions but in particular the use and standards of Fire Performance Cables.
