We are pleased to announce the appointment of Peter Spratt as our new Southern Regional Sales Manager.

Peter will join  us on the 1st October 2009 from a cable manufacturing competitor and has many years experience at a senior level of business to business sales in the cable product market.

Based in Northampton is well placed to service the Southern area and build our business with current and New Wholesale and Distribution customers. Peter's experience also brings an opportunity to gain new project specification sales via consultants, local authorities and London Underground.

Ventcroft are pleased to announce that they will be exhibiting at International Firex on 11 - 14 May 2009 at the NEC exhibition centre in Birmingham. We will be showing new products including the additions to our fire cable range, our fire cable clips and our low smoke and fume intruder cable range. Come and Visit us at Stand Number B40.

We have added a range of Low Smoke & Fume intruder cable to our customer offer. The decision to add these products to our already extensive range of intruder cable options was due to customer demand and increased market specification for cables which are safer in the event of fire.

The LSF range will be provided in 100m & 500m lengths with the 100m range supplied on our ever popular plastic reels.

Ventcroft are pleased to announce that they have gained BASEC product type approval for NoBurn Platinum Standard fire cable in addition to their existing LPCB Approvals. NoBurn Standard Fire Cable is now certified by BASEC to meet BS 5839-1:2002 Incorporating Amendment No.1 & A2:2008 and BS 7629-1:1997 Incorporating Amendment Nos. 1 & 2:1997, these are the current standard fire system cable standards.

We are pleased to announce that we have promoted Scott Crimes to fill the vacant Internal Sales position. Scott joined us some months ago in a Sales Administration role.

We are pleased to announce the promotion of Martin Freeman from Internal Sales to External sales. Martin's role as Security Product Category Manager is to develop security product sales to new and previous wholesale customers, and to assist Jim and the field sales team with sales of security products to our national customer base.

Ventcroft was announced as International Trader of the Year 2008 at the final of the Daily Post Regional Business Awards held at The St Georges Hall, Liverpool. The regions prestigious International Trader award was sponsored by the Liverpool Chamber of Commerce.

From the end of April a trial scheme will commence where Ventcroft will pay to collect empty used reels back from customers (minimum 96 on a pallet) from anywhere in the UK. In addition, we will encourage the return of our reels by giving customers £50.00 for each full pallet of reels returned.

Ventcroft Ltd. announced Steve Berka as the winner of the company's annual employee of the year competition.

The prize means Steve and his partner are off for a luxury 10 day Carribbean cruise with £1,000 to spend as he laps up the sun.

A question has been asked in the European Parliament for Peter Mandelson, the European Commissioner for competition to investigate the actions of some of the leading cable manufacturing companies.

Asked in and published on the European Parliament’s web site, question P-5203/06 asks:-

“Can the Commission investigate whether a cartel exists in the area of fire performance electric cables, led by the major cable manufacturers, and is it aware that these companies are using underhand and unprofessional tactics, including the deliberate spreading of misinformation, in an attempt to kill off competition from other, smaller companies, like Ventcroft Ltd., based in my constituency?

With the recent expansion in sales, Ventcroft welcomes Steve Garner as Northern Regional Sales Manager.

In this new post Steve will be responsible for building sales in the North of England and Scotland. Steve has many years experience with fire cable and most recently worked in Fire Cable Technical Sales for AEI.
